Exploring my identity: A support group for autistic older teens and young adults A safe space for autistic older teens and young adults aged 16-18 to meet like-minded people and share their life experiences. Facilitators will provide an opportunity for participants to deconstruct ableist views and negative stigmatised approaches to thinking around Autism. This is a neuro-affirmative group, that will enable participants to develop a more positive view of their own differences or disabilities. Participants may enjoy developing ideas and strategies for their own self advocacy, to meet their own needs in relationships, training and in the education setting.
Young adults that have been formally diagnosed or self-identify as autistic. This group is best suited to autistic older teens and young adults aged 16-18.
